Twitter banner maker

Your Twitter banner, the 1500 by 500 image X calls a header, is the largest surface on your profile, and most accounts spend it on wallpaper. Type your line below and pick one of eight designs, each drawn from your own words so the thumbnail is what you get. Change the palette or the typeface, click the text to move or resize it, add one of our drawn characters if the account suits a mascot, and download the banner at the exact size, exported at double resolution. Add your avatar and it appears in the corner X will put it, so the line stays readable.

This tool is free. So is knowing where your buyers are.

The X tools on this site run entirely in your browser. The LinkedIn half goes much further: Depost AI is an AI content team for B2B founders and teams, agents that read your analytics, plan your week, draft in your voice, design the graphics, and publish through the official API. If LinkedIn is part of your mix, that half can run itself.

The banner sets up the bio

A profile visit on X lasts a few seconds and follows a fixed path: banner, avatar, name, bio, pinned post. The banner is first and biggest, which makes it the setup line: whatever it claims, the bio has 160 characters to confirm. The pairs that work are claim and proof (“Shipping in public” over a bio with the numbers), or subject and scope (the topic on the banner, who it is for in the bio). If you have not settled the bio half, the X bio generator on this site writes five versions from three short answers.

Device crops are the constraint everyone hits: the same banner loses different slices of its top and bottom on web, iOS, and Android. Text placed in the vertical middle and clear of the avatar corner, which is where this tool puts it, survives all of them. Fine texture and small type do not survive X’s compression, which is why the palettes here are flat and the type is large.

Questions

What size is a Twitter banner?
1500 by 500 pixels, a 3:1 ratio, and this tool exports at exactly twice that so it stays sharp on retina screens. JPG and PNG both work. X calls the image a header and everyone else calls it a banner; it is the same file. It is cropped differently across devices, so treat the vertical middle as the dependable zone.
What are the eight designs?
Starting compositions, not skins: Statement, Split, Band, Frame, Ghost, Grid, Spotlight, and Dots. Each sets a backdrop, a palette, a typeface, and where the text sits, and each thumbnail is drawn from the line you typed rather than from a stock preview, so what you click is what you get. Everything stays editable afterwards.
Why does the preview mark the bottom left corner?
Your avatar overlaps the banner there on the profile page, and anything you place behind it is gone. The overlay shows roughly where it sits, and if you add your actual avatar it appears inside that circle, so you judge the real overlap instead of a guess. Either way it is a preview layer only and never appears in the download.
Can the banner match my avatar?
Once your avatar is in the preview, one click picks the palette closest to its colors from the same twelve palettes, so a warm photo lands on Sand or Mocha and a blue one on Ocean or Midnight. The banner and the avatar then read as one profile rather than two decisions.
What should a Twitter banner say?
The thing your bio then confirms in words: what you do, what you post about, or the one claim you want a profile visitor holding while they scroll your posts. Most banners are wallpaper. A plain line on a considered background does the positioning work wallpaper cannot.
Why does my banner look cropped on my phone?
X displays the banner at different aspect ratios across web, iOS, and Android, shaving the top and bottom edges by different amounts. That is why this tool centers the text vertically and keeps it clear of the edges: the middle band survives every crop currently in circulation.
Can I move or resize the text, or add a character?
All three. Click the line to select it, drag it anywhere, pull a corner to resize it, or nudge it with the arrow keys. You can also stand one of our four drawn characters, the blob, the robot, the cat, or the bean, anywhere on the banner and resize it the same way. They are original art drawn in code, shared with the meme generator on this site, so nothing on your profile is borrowed. A reset button undoes any layout experiment.
Is there a watermark?
No. The download is your banner at 2x with nothing added, consistent with every tool on this site.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The banner is drawn entirely in your browser, and the download is generated there too. Nothing on this page talks to X or to any server, and an avatar you add for the preview is read by your browser, never sent anywhere, and gone when you leave.
