  • Video in a post. The shortest video is 3 seconds from a computer and 2 seconds from the LinkedIn mobile app. LinkedIn says a ProRes file may upload but will not process.
  • Video on a Page or Career Page. For Page and Career Page videos LinkedIn says it no longer supports AVI, QuickTime, or MOV files.
  • Video ad. LinkedIn recommends 15 to 30 seconds for an ad, and asks for a frame rate under 30 frames per second.

LinkedIn video sizes by shape

LinkedIn publishes named sizes for video ads only. A post accepts a much wider range, so these sizes are a safe starting point for a post as well.

Export settings that pass

  • MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio. It is accepted for posts, Page videos, and ads alike.
  • 30 frames per second. Inside the 10 to 60 range for posts. An ad has to be under 30, so export an ad at 25 or 24.
  • 1080 pixels on the short side. 1920 × 1080, 1080 × 1080, 1080 × 1350, or 1080 × 1920.
  • Keep the edges clear. LinkedIn Help asks you to keep text and logos away from the top, bottom, and sides, because its buttons sit over them.

What the checker reads

The picture size and the length come from your browser’s own video decoder. The frame rate and the codecs are read from the header of an MP4 or MOV file. The bit rate is the file size divided by the length, which covers the video and the audio together. If your browser cannot open the file, the checker says which numbers it could not read.

To save a video from a public post, use the LinkedIn video downloader. For still images, the post image size page has every size in pixels.

Questions

What are the LinkedIn video specs in 2026?
For a video in a post, LinkedIn Help gives: 3 seconds to 15 minutes long, 75 KB to 5 GB, 256 × 144 to 4096 × 2304 pixels, a shape between 1:2.4 and 2.4:1, 10 to 60 frames per second, and a bit rate of 192 Kbps to 30 Mbps. MP4 and MOV are both accepted.
What is the LinkedIn video length limit?
A video in a post can be up to 15 minutes long. The shortest is 3 seconds from a computer and 2 seconds from the LinkedIn mobile app. A Page or Career Page video can be up to 10 minutes, and a video ad up to 30 minutes.
What is the LinkedIn video size limit?
The largest file for a post is 5 GB and the smallest is 75 KB. A video ad can be up to 500 MB.
What is the best LinkedIn video size in pixels?
LinkedIn names sizes for video ads, and they are a sound choice for posts too: 1920 × 1080 for landscape 16:9, 720 × 900 for 4:5 vertical, and 720 × 1280 for 9:16 vertical. A square ad can be anything from 360 × 360 to 1920 × 1920. A post accepts anything from 256 × 144 to 4096 × 2304.
Does LinkedIn support vertical video?
Yes. A post accepts any shape from 1:2.4 to 2.4:1, which covers 9:16 and 4:5. For video ads LinkedIn lists both 4:5 and 9:16, and marks 4:5 as the recommended ratio.
What video format does LinkedIn accept?
For a post: MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM, MKV, WMV, and MPEG files. For a Page or Career Page video, LinkedIn says it no longer supports AVI, QuickTime, or MOV. A video ad has to be an MP4 with H.264 or VP8 video and AAC audio. LinkedIn also says a ProRes file may upload but will not process.
Why does the checker say the frame rate could not be read?
The frame rate is read from the header of an MP4 or MOV file. For other containers, such as WEBM or MKV, the browser does not report it, so that check is skipped and the others still run.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The checker reads the file on your device, a small part at a time, so even a 5 GB video is not sent anywhere.
