How to find your LinkedIn profile URL

Open your profile
On a computer, click the Me icon at the top of LinkedIn and choose View Profile. In the app, tap your profile photo.

On a computer it is under Public profile & URL on the right. In the app, scroll to the Contact section and look under LinkedIn.

How to change your link to your name
A new profile gets a link that ends in a row of letters and numbers. You can replace that with your name. On a computer, open your profile, click the Edit icon next to Public profile & URL, click the Edit icon next to your link, type the new name part, and click Save.
The rules, from LinkedIn Help’s page on managing your public profile URL:
- The name part can be 3 to 100 characters long.
- It cannot contain spaces, symbols, special characters, or the word LinkedIn.
- Capital letters make no difference. JaneDoe and janedoe open the same profile.
- You can change it up to five times within six months.
- Your old link keeps pointing to you for six months, unless you unlink it.
Where to use it
Put the short form, linkedin.com/in/your-name, on your resume, your business card, and your email
signature. For a slide or a printed badge, a
QR code saves people from typing it. If a link you were sent has
a long tail of tracking on it, the URL cleaner removes it.

- What does a LinkedIn profile URL look like?
- It is www.linkedin.com/in/ followed by your name part, for example www.linkedin.com/in/jane-doe. If you have never changed it, the name part ends in a hyphen and a row of letters and numbers that LinkedIn added.
- How do I change my LinkedIn URL to my name?

- How many times can I change my LinkedIn URL?
- LinkedIn Help says up to five times within six months. After the fifth change you have to wait six months. Your old link keeps pointing to you for six months unless you unlink it, so links you have already shared do not break straight away.
- How do I find someone else’s LinkedIn profile URL?
- Search for their name on LinkedIn or on Google, open the right person, and copy the address from your browser. The search boxes above build both searches for you. Then paste the address into the checker to get the clean link without the tracking parts.
- What should I put on my resume?
- The short form: linkedin.com/in/your-name, with no https and no www. It is easier to read and to type, and it opens the same page. The checker above gives you this form with a Copy button.
- Why does my link start with uk. or in. and not www?
- LinkedIn Help notes that some profile links begin with a two-letter country code based on the country on the profile. They open the same profile as the www address. The checker changes them to www, which works everywhere.
- Does this tool look me up on LinkedIn?
- No. It reads the link you paste and checks its shape, in your browser. It does not open your profile, and it sends nothing to a server. The Open it link is there so you can check for yourself that the link goes to you.
