LinkedIn carousel tester
Drop in your carousel PDF to see it the way LinkedIn shows it, at desktop and phone width, and to check it against LinkedIn's limits: 100 MB, 300 pages, and every page the same size. It also measures the smallest text on a phone. The file stays in your browser.
How to test a LinkedIn carousel
- 1
Drop in your PDF
Export the carousel as a PDF from your design tool, then drop it into the tester or click to choose it.
- 2
Click through the slides
Use the arrows to move through the carousel, and switch between Desktop and Phone to see both widths.
- 3
Read the checks
Each check says whether the file passes and what to change if it does not: size, pages, page size, shape, text size, layers, and links.
- 4
Fix and test again
Change the design, export a new PDF, and drop it in again until it says Ready to post.
LinkedIn carousel size and limits, 2026
A LinkedIn carousel is a document post: a PDF that LinkedIn turns into slides. These are the limits from LinkedIn Help’s page Upload and share documents on LinkedIn, last checked on 6 October 2026.
| What | LinkedIn’s rule |
|---|---|
| File size | Up to 100 MB |
| Pages | Up to 300 |
| File types | PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC, DOCX. PDF is recommended. |
| Page size | Every page the same size. No pixel size is published. |
| Layers | A PDF with multiple layers must be flattened or merged. |
| Links | Links in the PDF should be secure, starting with https://. |
| Video and animation | Not supported. They are shown as still images. |
Which shape to use
- Portrait, 4:5. For example 1080 × 1350. The tallest common shape, so it takes the most room in a phone feed.
- Square, 1:1. For example 1080 × 1080. A safe choice that reads well on a phone and on a desktop.
- Landscape, 16:9. Works for slides that already exist as a presentation, but each one is shown small on a phone, so the text has to be larger.
What the tester cannot tell you
The preview is our drawing of a LinkedIn post, not LinkedIn itself, so small details such as the buttons and the exact width differ between devices. The text check is a guide: 12 pixels on a phone is where reading gets hard for most people, and LinkedIn sets no rule of its own. And a file that passes every check can still be a weak carousel. The first slide decides whether anyone swipes.
If you do not have a carousel yet, the carousel generator exports a PDF with every page the same size, and the carousel content generator writes the slides. To take the author name and app details out of a PDF before you post it, use the PDF metadata remover.
Depost AI designs the deck with the post, in your colors and type, and the two arrive together for your approval.
Questions
- How do I test a LinkedIn carousel before posting?
- Drop the PDF into the tester. It shows each slide inside a LinkedIn post at desktop and phone width, so you can click through it the way a reader will, and it checks the file size, the page count, the page sizes, layers, links, and the smallest text. Nothing is uploaded.
- What size is a LinkedIn carousel in 2026?
- LinkedIn does not publish a pixel size for carousel pages. Two shapes are common: square, such as 1080 × 1080, and 4:5 portrait, such as 1080 × 1350. What LinkedIn does require is that every page in the PDF is the same size.
- What is the LinkedIn carousel PDF size limit?
- LinkedIn Help says a document cannot exceed 100 MB and 300 pages. The supported file types are PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC, and DOCX, and LinkedIn recommends converting to PDF for the best quality.
- How many slides should a LinkedIn carousel have?
- LinkedIn allows up to 300 pages and gives no recommended number. The tester does not judge the count. Use as many slides as the idea needs, with one point on each.
- How big should the text on a carousel slide be?
- Big enough to read on a phone, where a slide is about 360 pixels wide. The tester measures the smallest text in your PDF at that width and flags anything under 12 pixels. That number is our guide, not a LinkedIn rule. On a 1080-pixel-wide slide it works out to text of about 36 pixels or more.
- Why does the tester say the text cannot be measured?
- Some design tools save each slide as one picture, or turn the letters into shapes, so the PDF holds no text to measure. That is fine for LinkedIn. Switch the preview to Phone and read every slide yourself.
- Can I upload a PowerPoint as a LinkedIn carousel?
- Yes. LinkedIn accepts PPT and PPTX, and turns them into the same swipeable document. It recommends PDF for the highest quality, and says videos and animations in a document are shown as still images.
- Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
- No. The PDF is opened and measured in your browser. It is not sent to our server or anyone else’s.
