X header maker

An X header is the largest surface on your profile and most accounts spend it on wallpaper. Type your line below, pick a palette and a typeface, drag the text exactly where you want it, add one of our drawn characters if the account suits a mascot, and download a header at X's recommended 1500 by 500, exported at double resolution, with the corner your avatar covers marked so the line stays readable.

The other room

This tool is free. So is knowing where your buyers are.

The X tools on this site run entirely in your browser. The LinkedIn half goes much further: Depost AI is an AI content team for B2B founders and teams, agents that read your analytics, plan your week, draft in your voice, design the graphics, and publish through the official API. If LinkedIn is part of your mix, that half can run itself.

The header sets up the bio

A profile visit on X lasts a few seconds and follows a fixed path: header, avatar, name, bio, pinned post. The header is first and biggest, which makes it the setup line: whatever it claims, the bio has 160 characters to confirm. The pairs that work are claim and proof (“Shipping in public” over a bio with the numbers), or subject and scope (the topic in the header, who it is for in the bio). If you have not settled the bio half, the X bio generator on this site writes five versions from three short answers.

Device crops are the constraint everyone hits: the same header loses different slices of its top and bottom on web, iOS, and Android. Text placed in the vertical middle and clear of the avatar corner, which is where this tool puts it, survives all of them. Fine texture and small type do not survive X’s compression, which is why the palettes here are flat and the type is large.

Questions

What size is an X header?
1500 by 500 pixels, a 3:1 ratio, and this tool exports at exactly twice that so it stays sharp on retina screens. JPG and PNG both work. The header is cropped differently across devices, so treat the vertical middle as the dependable zone.
Why does the preview mark the bottom left corner?
Your profile photo overlaps the header there on the profile page, and anything you place behind it is gone. The overlay shows roughly where the photo sits; it is a guide in the preview only and never appears in the download.
What should a header say?
The thing your bio then confirms in words: what you do, what you post about, or the one claim you want a profile visitor holding while they scroll your posts. Most headers are wallpaper. A plain line on a considered background does the positioning work wallpaper cannot.
Why does my header look cropped on my phone?
X displays the header at different aspect ratios across web, iOS, and Android, shaving the top and bottom edges by different amounts. That is why this tool centers the text vertically and keeps it clear of the edges: the middle band survives every crop currently in circulation.
Can I move the text, or add a character?
Both. The alignment buttons set a starting point and from there the text block drags freely on the preview, and you can stand one of our four drawn characters, the blob, the robot, the cat, or the bean, anywhere on the header. They are original art drawn in code, shared with the meme generator on this site, so nothing on your profile is borrowed. A reset button undoes any layout experiment.
Is there a watermark?
No. The download is your header at 2x with nothing added, consistent with every tool on this site.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The header is drawn entirely in your browser, and the download is generated there too. Nothing on this page talks to X or to any server.
