# X Thread Generator

Canonical page: https://depost.ai/tools/x-thread-generator

A thread is an argument told in sequence, and it holds readers exactly as long as every post earns the next tap. Paste your material below, pick five or eight posts, and get the whole thread in order: a hook that makes a promise the thread keeps, one point per post, and a close that does not beg.

Free to use, with no account needed.

## How to use it

1. Fill in **The idea, outline, or rough material**.
2. Add **Who it is for** and **Thread length** if you want to. They are optional.
3. Click **Build the thread**. To see a result before typing, click **Try an example** first; it fills the form with a sample.

## Example: A five-post thread from one paragraph of lessons

The hook promises exactly what the thread delivers, no thread emoji, no numbering. Every post carries one point a reader can use on its own, and the close lands the takeaway without begging for follows.

**What went in**

- The idea, outline, or rough material: Lessons from sending 1,000 cold emails as a technical founder with no sales background. Reply rate went from 0.4% to 7%. Biggest levers: shorter emails, one specific observation about their company, asking a question instead of pitching a call. Did not matter: fancy signatures, send-time optimization, personalization tokens.
- Who it is for: Technical founders doing their own sales
- Thread length: 5 posts

**What came back**

1. Post 1 (Hook): I sent 1,000 cold emails as a technical founder with zero sales background.

Reply rate went from 0.4% to 7%.

What actually moved the number, and what made no difference:
2. Post 2 (Point 1): Shorter won. Every time.

My first emails were 180 words of context and credentials. The ones that got replies were under 60.

A cold email is a knock on the door, not a presentation.
3. Post 3 (Point 2): One specific observation beat every personalization token.

"Saw you are hiring three SDRs before you have a CRM admin" got replies. "Hi {first_name}, congrats on the funding" got deleted.

One line that proves you looked is the whole game.
4. Post 4 (Point 3): Asking a question outperformed pitching a call.

"How are you handling this today?" can be answered from a phone in a hallway. "Do you have 30 minutes Thursday?" is a calendar commitment to a stranger.

Make the first yes small.
5. Post 5 (Close): What did not matter: signatures, send-time optimization, every growth hack I copied from threads like this one.

What mattered: short, specific, easy to answer.

That is the whole 0.4% to 7%.

## Questions people ask

### How does this thread generator work?

Paste your material, an outline, a story, a set of lessons, pick 5 or 8 posts, and the thread comes back in order: a hook that makes a concrete promise, middle posts that deliver one point each, and a close that lands the takeaway. Every post stays inside 280 characters with margin.

### Why no thread emoji or "1/12" in the hook?

Because announcing a thread is asking for commitment before offering value. A hook that makes a specific promise ("reply rate went from 0.4% to 7%, here is what moved it") earns the tap on its own, and X shows the thread structure anyway. The numbering ritual is a habit from 2019 that survives on inertia.

### How long should a thread be?

As long as the material has points, and no longer. Five posts suits one lesson with evidence; eight suits a process or a story with stages. Past ten, completion rates fall fast, and an unfinished thread earns nothing. If your material wants twelve posts, it usually wants to be two threads or one article.

### What makes a thread hold readers to the end?

Each post paying on its own. The reliable failure is the setup post, the one that exists to introduce the next one. A reader who hits a post with nothing in it assumes the rest are the same and leaves. The generator writes each post to be worth something standalone, which is also what makes individual posts from the middle get quoted.

### Does this use the X API?

No. Nothing on this page talks to X. The thread is generated on our own infrastructure, and you copy and post it yourself, one post per card, in order.

### Is it free?

Yes, without an account. A daily cap keeps it available for everyone. Your material is sent once to build the thread and is not stored.
