## How to clean a LinkedIn link

1. **Copy the link.** Copy the LinkedIn link from the address bar, from the Share menu, or from a message someone sent you.
2. **Paste it above.** Paste it into the box. To clean several links at once, put each one on its own line.
3. **Copy the clean link.** The clean link appears straight away, with a list of what was removed. Press Copy.

### How do I clean a LinkedIn URL?

Paste the link into the box above. The cleaner removes everything after the question mark that is only there for tracking, moves the link to www.linkedin.com, and shows you the short, plain link to the same page. Press Copy and use that one.

### What is the part after the question mark in a LinkedIn link?

Those are tracking parameters. When you copy a link from LinkedIn, it adds notes such as utm_source=share and utm_medium=member_desktop that record how the link was shared. They do not change which page opens, so the link works the same without them.

### Will the cleaned link still open the same page?

Yes. The cleaner only removes parts that do not change where the link goes. It keeps the two parts that do matter on a post link: commentUrn and replyUrn, which point to one comment or reply. Without them, a link to a comment would open the post from the top.

### How do I get the link to a LinkedIn post from an embed code?

Paste the embed link, the one that starts with linkedin.com/embed/feed/update. The cleaner removes the embed wrapper and gives you the normal link to the post, which you can open, share, or cite.

### Can it open lnkd.in short links?

No. A short lnkd.in link hides where it goes, and a web page is not allowed to open it from another site to find out. Open the short link once in your browser, copy the address it lands on, and paste that here.

### Does it work for profile links from other countries?

Yes. A link such as uk.linkedin.com/in/name or in.linkedin.com/in/name points to the same profile as www.linkedin.com/in/name. The cleaner changes it to the www address, which is the one LinkedIn itself shows as the public profile link.

### Are my links sent to a server?

No. The cleaning is done by this page, in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded or stored, and nothing connects to your LinkedIn account.
